Blended Learning คืออะไร?(What is Blended learning?)

Blended learning Blended learning combines online with face-to-face and other approaches to learning. This theme area keeps you up to date with research and practices that support and encourage blended learning approaches in the Vocational Education and Training sector. (http://www.icvet.tafensw.edu.au/research/blended_learning.htm)
Blended learning is the combination of multiple approaches to learning. For example:- self-paced, collaborative or inquiry-based study. Blended learning can be accomplished through the use of 'blended' virtual and physical resources. Examples include combinations of technology-based materials, face-to-face sessions and print materials. (http://www.answers.com/topic/blended-learning) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blended_learning)
Blended learning : The combination of the traditional form of education and e-learning activities (blended learning) constitutes an important possibility for the higher education (http://www.springerlink.com/content/u02126r67297/?sortorder=asc&v=expanded)
This term refers to a learning solution that incorporates a mix of online and face-to-face elements. It has been further refined to mean a learning solution that contains a mix of formats, media and experiences (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blended_learning)
"Blended learning combines online with face-to-face learning. The goal of blended learning is to provide the most efficient and effective instruction experience by combining delivery modalities." (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blended_Learning_in_K-12/Definition)
Blended learninga combination of face-to-face and online media, with "seat time" significantly reducedis an increasing proportion of instruction in U.S. higher education. Supplementing wholly face-to-face courses and wholly online asynchronous courses with technology is nearly ubiquitous. (http://www.aln.org/publications/view/v2n1/blended1.htm)
Blended learning - The term blended learning is used to describe a solution that combines several different delivery methods, such as collaboration software, Web-based courses, EPSS, and knowledge management practices. Blended learning also is used to describe learning that mixes various event-based activities, including face-to-face classrooms, live e-learning, and self-paced learning. Unfortunately, there's no single formula that guarantees learning, but here are some guidelines from NIIT on how to order your learning activities. Dr. Margaret Driscoll identifies four different concepts in defining blended learning. The first defines blended learning as meaning "to combine or mix modes of Web-based technology (e.g., live virtual classroom, self-paced instruction, collaborative learning, streaming video, audio, and text) to accomplish an educational goal." (Driscoll, 2002) Other authors also define blended learning according to Driscolls first. For example in the introduction to "Building Effective Blended Learning Programs", Harry Singh (2003) indicates blended learning models combine various delivery modes. Anecdotal evidence indicates that blended learning not only offers more choices but also is more effective."
Dr. Driscolls second definition describes blended learning as meaning "to combine various pedagogical approaches (e.g., constructivism, behaviorism, cognitivism) to produce an optimal learning outcome with or without instructional technology." (Driscoll, 2002) (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blended_Learning_in_K-12/Definition)

Blending In: The Extent and Promise of Blended Education in the United States
Blending In: The Extent and Promise of Blended Education in the United States builds on the Sloan series of annual reports on the state of online education in U.S. Higher Education. This study is aimed at answering some of the fundamental questions about the nature and extent of education in the United States. Unlike the previous reports in this series that focused exclusively on online learning, this report examines blended (also called hybrid) instruction. The findings are based on four years of responses from a national sample of over 1,000 colleges and universities. Additional results are presented from an Eduventures-conducted national survey of 2,033 U.S. adults interested in postsecondary education in the next three years.
